Planet Express was split from Survivor in the Spring of 2020. It quickly reached full strength and produced almost 100 pounds of honey.
Planet Express tolerated the extreme temperature swings in the early spring of 2021 very well and by May it was at full strength and preparing to swarm. Planet Express was on track for a banner year until it was hit by a minor infestation of varroa mites in mid-June. A modest treatment had them back to health in July. Despite the setback, Planet Express still managed to produce 50 pounds of honey.
2022 ended up going much better for the hive. After avoiding any significant pest infestations, it produced another 90 pounds of honey and was our top producing hive for the year.
